For Tier 1 principal contractors we typically provide embedded project management, programme oversight or independent quality assurance on large and complex schemes. For Tier 2 and Tier 3 contractors the need is often more specific. Additional delivery resource, CDM support, a competent TWC or commercial management on a live project. We structure our engagement around what the contractor needs rather than a fixed service model.
Yes. This is how most of our engagements work. We embed within your existing team rather than operating as a remote consultancy. We attend progress meetings, manage the programme, handle client reporting and take ownership of specific deliverables. The level of involvement scales with what the project requires. Some clients use us to lead delivery entirely. Others use us to fill one specific gap within an existing team.
Yes. Where we are appointed to support your business or project, Matthews and Roberts can provide named personnel, competency information, professional CVs and defined consultancy capability for inclusion within tender and prequalification submissions. Yes. We regularly provide targeted short-term support when a contractor needs specific capability for a defined period. This might be a project manager to cover a programme-critical phase, commercial support during a dispute or final account, or planning resource to recover a delayed programme. We mobilise quickly and work at the pace the project demands.
Yes. CDM compliance, health and safety management and temporary works coordination are core services we provide directly to contractors. We prepare Construction Phase Plans, provide named Principal Contractor CDM support, manage retained H&S programmes and act as independent Temporary Works Coordinator to BS 5975. These services sit within our wider delivery capability rather than defining it.
